Student threatened another one forcing two schools on lock down in Herricks

Albertson - Police were called to both Herricks Middle and High School reporting a student had gun around 1pm. Both schools were placed on lock down after police arrived. Chopper was hovering above. Police also closed the entire schools from anyone leaving and entering. After checking around, police didn't find any weapon or other dangerous items. By 2:45, both schools were open and lock down was lifted. A female student was taken into custody for making the threat and was questioned. Shortly she was released after calling her parents. Additional details of the female student were not disclosed by police. Reported 3pm.
