Storage companies are raking up hefty profits working with NYC

Beside hotels, storage companies in NYC are raking healthy profits over 10 times from the average fee to the regular customer. Homeless people whose personal belongings are being stored at various storage centers in NYC is making from $350 to $500 per month while the regular cost is $35 to $50. The city confirmed the prices are different due to emergency assistance to store belongings from location to location where homeless are sheltered without long term contracts. The city also released the average cost for storage is $18.5 million dollars per month using tax payer's fund. Additional service not listed in the budget are moving companies.
