Stolen vehicle pursuit in Massena leads to multiple charges for two individuals

On April 13, 2026, the New York State Police charged Parker F.J. Burgoyne, age 19, of Churubusco, with two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, four counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, two counts of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree, and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree for damaging another person’s property.

Additionally, an 18-year-old male from Plattsburgh was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree and Conspiracy in the 5th degree.

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 9:55 a.m., troopers traveling southbound on State Route 420 in the town of Massena observed a stolen blue 2019 Hyundai traveling northbound. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of the City of Plattsburgh.

Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the operator failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit lasted approximately six minutes and covered a distance of about five miles through the village of Massena. The incident concluded when the vehicle became stuck on a lawn on Owl Avenue.

Both individuals were taken into custody and identified as Burgoyne and the 18-year-old male. They were transported to SP Massena for processing. Both were later arraigned in the Town of Massena Court and released on their own recognizance.

Both were transported to SP Malone for pending charges.
