Stealing donuts with a short pursuit led to arrests

On March 6, 2025, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested Kenneth Edmister, 38 of Gasport for Criminal Contempt 1st degree, Petit Larceny, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief. Valerie S. Buscaglia, 44 of Lockport, NY was arrested for Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

On March 6, 2025, at 10:15 P.M., Troopers out of SP Lockport responded to Tops on South Transit Road in the town of Lockport to assist Niagara County Sheriff’s Office with a shoplifter. Investigation determined while on location outside Tops, a Tops employee advised Troopers there was another larceny occurring. Troopers identified and suspect and pursued him on foot down the side of the building. The suspect later identified as Edmister, entered a 2015 U-Haul truck. Troopers attempted to remove Edmister, but he placed the vehicle in reverse and sped off across the parking lot and came to rest after striking a fence. Troopers and Deputies attempted to remove Edmister and the passenger, Buscaglia but they did not cooperate. Both were taken into custody.

Both were processed at SP Lockport. Buscaglia was released on an appearance ticket while Edmister was transported to Niagara County Jail for CAP arraignment.

Edmister had a full Stay Away Order of Protection with Buscaglia.
