State police arrest Whitehall man for weapon possession following Wilton traffic stop

On October 28, 2024, State Police of Wilton arrested Carl D. Eldridge, 57, of Whitehall, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On October 28, 2024, at about 8:15 p.m. Troopers stopped a vehicle on Ballard Road in Wilton, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  Eldridge was identified as the driver and taken into custody for an unrelated warrant for his arrest issued out of the Schenectady City Court.  Following his arrest an illegal possessed long gun was located in Eldridge’s vehicle and seized. Eldridge cannot legally possess any firearm due to a previous felony conviction.

Eldridge was transported to SP Wilton for processing.  He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Wilton Town Court on November 26, 2024, and then turned over to the Schenectady City Police Department due to the active warrant.
