State Police investigating fatal dirt bike crash in onondaga county

On April 7, 2025, at approximately 7:32 p.m., State Police in Lafayette responded to a reported dirt bike crash on a trail north of 4163 Tanner Road in the Town of Onondaga, Onondaga County.

The preliminary investigation determined that Caleb T. Devoe, 33, of Auburn, NY, was operating a 2011 Yamaha dirt bike when, for unknown reasons, he exited the trail and went down a 5-foot embankment.  Devoe was found by bystanders at the bottom of the embankment.  Devoe was being transported by TLC Ambulance when he lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest.  Life-saving measures were performed, and Devoe was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing.
