State Police arrested a Brooklyn man in the City of Kingston on drug related charges

On June 21, 2026, at approximately 9:53 p.m., troopers out of the Kingston Barracks observed a 2019 Kia traveling on Washington Avenue in the City of Kingston, NY, in violation of multiple New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.

Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the vehicle failed to comply, and a brief pursuit ensued for approximately 4 minutes. During the pursuit, the 2019 Kia traveled northwest on Washington Avenue and subsequently sideswiped a 2011 Ford before leaving the scene.

The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Quavon V. Travis, age 32, of Brooklyn, NY. Travis stopped the Kia on Colonial Drive and fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued, and he was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

A search of the vehicle conducted during the investigation revealed approximately 14.2 grams of Adderall and approximately 4.36 grams of Percocet.

Travis was arrested and transported to the State Police Kingston Barracks for processing without further incident.

He was charged with the following offenses:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a Class C felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor

Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, a Class A misdemeanor

Resisting Arrest, a Class A misdemeanor

Multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets

Travis also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Parole for a parole violation.
