State Police arrest woman following chester burglary investigation

On December 3, 2025, State Police arrested Erica M. Hitchcock-Smith 42 of Chester, NY for Burglary in the second degree.

On December 3, 2025, at about 9:46 a.m. Troopers responded to a home in Chester, Warren County for the reports of a burglary in progress. The investigation determined Hitchcock-Smith allegedly entered the unoccupied residence without permission. The homeowner returned home and reportedly located Hitchcock-Smith inside the residence and instructed her to leave. The victim determined that items had been stolen and contacted law enforcement.

Hitchcock-Smith was arrested nearby at her home and transported to SP Chestertown for processing.
