State Police arrest two for felony drug possession following Fort Edward traffic stop

On December 26, 2024, State Police of Wilton arrested Elizabeth M. Beckett, 31, of Schenectady, NY, for:

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the third degree and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations

Taylor M. Ruddy, 23, of Middle Grove, NY, was also arrested for:

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree

Criminal Impersonation in the second degree

On December 26, 2024, at about 6:26 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on Bridge Street in Fort Edward, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  Beckett was identified as the driver and found to not have a valid driver's license.  Ruddy was a passenger in the vehicle and initially provided false identifying information.  Further investigation discovered multiple controlled substances within the vehicle, including felony-weight narcotics.

Both were arrested and transported to SP Wilton for processing.  Ruddy was definitively identified and found to have multiple active warrants for her arrest. Both were then turned over to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
