State Police arrest two following Salem traffic stop

On April 5, 2025, State Police of Greenwich arrested Derek R. Bushee, 42, of Arlington, VT, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

Bradley W. Hughes, 35, of Arlington, VT, was also arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

On April 5, 2025, at about 6:49 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on Perry Hill Road in Salem, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Bushee, and the passenger as Hughes. It was determined that neither individual possessed a valid driver’s license. Further investigation discovered felony-weight narcotics in the vehicle and multiple glass smoking devices containing drug residue.
