State Police arrest three for felony drug possession following Bethlehem traffic stop

On June 3, 2026, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Robert C. Davis, 39, of Troy, NY, Freddie J. Fields, 45, of Albany, NY, and Terrell C. Welcome, 36, of Schenectady, NY, each for:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st, a class “A” felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony

Davis was also charged with a vehicle and traffic law violation.

On June 3, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle on Interstate-87 Thruway in Bethlehem for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The driver was identified as Davis, and the passengers as Fields and Welcome. With the assistance of State Police K9 “J”, more than three pounds of a substance, which later field-tested positive for containing cocaine was discovered within the vehicle.
