State Police arrest passenger for felony drug possession following Colonie traffic stop

On February 17, 2026, State Police arrested Kendall M. Bachman, 48, of Hammond, NY, for:

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, a class “C” felony

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a class “D” felony

Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 5th, a class “D” felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a class “A” misdemeanor

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, a class “A” misdemeanor

Criminally Using of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, a class “A” misdemeanor 

On February 17, 2026, at about 2:04 a.m. Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-787 in Colonie for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the investigation, felony weight narcotics, Drug paraphernalia, and an illegally possessed bladed weapon were located in the vehicle. Bachman claimed ownership of all items seized. The driver was ticketed for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations and was released along with two other passengers.
