State Police arrest Syracuse man for Rape in the First Degree following domestic incident in Town of Salina

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., New York State Police responded to 10 Wilbert Drive in the Town of Salina, Onondaga County, for a reported physical domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, Troopers located a female victim who reported that she had been assaulted and forcibly raped inside the residence. The suspect, identified as Felix S. Geel, age 43, of Syracuse, was located inside the home and taken into custody without incident.

An investigation was subsequently conducted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Lafayette. The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

As a result of the investigation, Geel was charged with:

•    Rape in the First Degree (Class B Felony)

•    Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class E Felony)

•    Assault in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

•    Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation (Class A Misdemeanor)

Geel was processed at SP North Syracuse and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center. He was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part of the Court on February 17, 2026, and was remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
