State Police arrest Schenectady man for possessing more than a pound of cocaine

On February 23, 2026, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit arrested Ammar K.Elordi, 36, of Schenectady, NY, and Brian K. Jackson, 38 of Schenectady, NY each for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st, a class “A” felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony.

Elordi was also charged with violations of vehicle and traffic laws.

On February 23, 2026, at approximately 10:29 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle on I-890 in Rotterdam for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Elordi was identified as the driver, and Jackson as a passenger in the vehicle. During the ongoing investigation, K9 “J” was utilized, leading to the discovery and seizure of approximately 630 grams of a substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine from the vehicle.

Elordi and Jackson were arrested at the scene and transported to SP Latham for processing. They were then transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
