Stabbing investigation at the local university in Fresh Meadows

The NYPD is investigating allegations of a dispute turned fatal near St. John's University in Fresh Meadows. The incident was reported outside the campus perimeter yesterday morning. The medical examiner transported the body of the student to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The security notified all of extra cautionary measures after a brief statement from the university expressed profound sorrow and offered support to those affected by this tragedy. Plans for a vigil on campus are underway, allowing students and faculty to gather in remembrance.

Local residents were notified later after chopper was hovering in the morning in the area.

The NYPD has not issued a statement.

The investigation continues.
