Special election to take place for 3rd District

After the current Congressman Santos has been voted to expel today, the NYS Governor will announce a new election within 10 days which is expected to take place within 90 days.

Candidates from both Democratic and Republican parties are lining up to grab the seat.

3rd District covers part of Nassau and part of the border of Queens.

Queens voted blue while Nassau heavily voted red giving Santos the victory over the previous Congressman in the last election.

The vote in the House was 311-114. For NY, there were 22 ayes and 3 Nays and 1 absentee which was Alexandria Cortez.
