Son arrested after human remains found in the basement of a home in Laurelton

Police reported a call from 911 of a foul smell prompted investigation leading to human remains inside a home in Laurelton. This is on 138th Avenue near Carson's Street. The call came on Saturday around 3pm. The homeowner was cleaning the basement and then discovered plastic bags with remains after spotting the worst smell area. Further investigation confirmed the remains of a woman who was missing four months ago. Shortly the son was taken into custody and now in the hospital for continued evaluations. The investigation continues.
