Something sometimes to keep Roosevelt Avenue busy

This afternoon, there was a protest organized by the non profit organization, Make the Road NY which is funded by taxpayers arranged by the local Congress members, Grace Meng and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez along with local State Senate and Assembly members, Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, Catalina Cruz and Jessica Ramos.

Ramos is running for the Mayoral race next year.

The group of people who desperately need money were paid by the organization to stand on Roosevelt Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue with slogans and boards to leave the area alone from the NYPD task force against brothels and the oldest profession in the world.

Much to the surprise, the group against those also showed up but were outnumbered.

As for Operation Restore Roosevelt, NYPD reported a commercial location on Elmhurst Avenue near Roosevelt Avenue was raided on Monday night around 11pm.

The group of nonprofits are calling the Mayor and Governor for more taxpayer funds despite spending $30 million to clean up the area from sex work and street vendors.

How much they are seeking was not disclosed but several staff with the two organizations said around $100 million including hiring staff and more administrative roles which pays around $150,000 per year plus perks.
