Solar sales people using bait and switch to sign up residents

According to Queens residents, many reported solar companies are luring residents to give their personal information to the sales people's phone with name, address and etc. When residents asked for phone numbers of the sales people or even a brochure, they didn't have it. Instead they display company identification and ask residents to sign up to participate to see if they qualify for the solar panel program. One company going around Bellerose and Floral Park is Solar Trinity. Several residents reported to NYS Attorney General's office of giving out details only to get an actual bill for installment with first payment due. Unable to obtain a copy of information entered or fine print, many are frustrated due to time spent dealing with the company to cancel. According to attorney general's office, a statement must be received and verify before submitting if interested in the plan after reading the terms and other disclosure. Their advise is not to give out any information which many companies collect to sell for profits.
