Shots fired and cop assault in Times Square

One police officer assaulted and one officer stabbed.

The officer assaulted was hit with a lead pipe. The other officer was stabbed in the head rushing to the hospital.

Both officers are transported to local hospitals.

Calls came in for shots fired by 50th Street and 8th Avenue by groups. Large police presence during the incident.

One perp was shot.

Another suspect in custody.

More people are leaving the area.

It’s only 90 minutes away for the 2023 light to cone down to a new year.
