The NY Governor announced more legislation for shoplifters who are the victim of crimes in the state including NYC.

More programs from food to voucher assistance will be introduced in the coming weeks except for toys, electronic items, designer brands including clothes, iphones, luxury vehicles and of course cash, i.e. hard currency. Those items are what shoplifters want and the Governor can't provide them so new legislatures will be introduced for retail stores from shoplifters. That is a new state police unit and retail theft joint operation which will oversee shoplifters.

The other is a legislature, another bill for assaulting workers who are trying to prevent shoplifters from stealing merchandise.

As usual under bail reform, release with a date to appear in court will continue.

Retail thefts are at an all time high, small businesses have closed in many areas despite pleading with police for support.
