Second press statement on the Sunset shooting

The NYC Mayor virtually stated this is not isolated to NY only but a national problem. So many mass shootings took place across the country over the past few decades.

The NYPD Chief said the shooter shot 33 times inside the subway car striking 10 people. The gun got jammed. Otherwise more casualties would have occurred.

From the U-Haul, the rented vehicle was in the name of Frank R James, 62 year old male with addresses in Wisconsin and Philadelphia.

Police recovered a Glock 17 9mm with one bullet inside, 3 extended magazines, 33 discharged shell cases, 15 bullets, smoke grenades of two different types, hatchet, garbage can, gasoline container and the van key.

The suspect posted on social media about NYC's homeless crisis and the Mayor. The FBI stated they don't have a clear motive as of now.
Meanwhile, the Mayor’s security is tightening up after the information was released. The FBI also stated he's been known to them since 2019.
