Roosevelt Field Mall had a minor scare but all is well

A loud noise caused by a shoplifter knocking over a display case sent people running out of the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City Tuesday. There were loud banging noises that numerous people reported sounded like gunfire after the display was knocked over, likely inside a Macy's store. People ran out, but the mall was never fully evacuated. There was no gunfire or weapon recovered. The shoplifter was taken into custody.
