Roosevelt Avenue continue to plague with robberies

As of Friday, police reported the most robberies occurred on Roosevelt Avenue from Sunnyside to Corona.

This included commercial robberies while civilians were the most incidents. As of today, 62 people were robbed, mugged, thefts, snatching and stealing personal items. The most incidents reported from 74 to 82 Streets where victims all reported phones and wallets/purses taken.

Police reported the suspects were working in groups with possession of knives.

EMS reported injuries from shaken up to minor cuts from those resisting.

Some parts of Roosevelt Avenue have tents setup at night for sleeping and continue to increase.

Locals are advised to walk in groups.
