Rochester resident charged with rape use of a child in sexual performance

The New York State Police have arrested Tasha B. Evans, 40, of Rochester, following an investigation into the reported sexual assault of a 15-year-old male.

The investigation began on October 1, 2025, after State Police received a law enforcement referral from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regarding an alleged sexual encounter that occurred on September 30, 2025.Investigators determined the victim had communicated with Evans through the Tinder dating application before arranging to meet. During the investigation, Troopers executed search warrants, seized electronic devices for forensic examination, and conducted multiple interviews. Investigators also obtained evidence corroborating the victim's account.

On July 24, 2026, State Police arrested Evans without incident.

 Evans was charged with:

Use of a Child Less Than 17 in a Sexual Performance (C felony)

Rape 3rd degree (E felony)

Following processing at SP Rochester, Evans was transported to the Monroe County Jail for CAP arraignment.
