Robbery crew continue to strike despite warning on jewelry scam

Police reported a group of men and women continue to target seniors wearing jewelry by switching to fake ones.

The latest incident was reported in Bellerose on 85th Avenue near Little Neck Parkway on Thursday around 11am.

Last week there was a three day spree in Bath Beach, Brooklyn, Flushing, Queens and New Springville, Staten Island.

In all incidents, the loser suspect approached the victims and gave them jewelry. Then removed the original one along with the fake one.

The Flushing incident was reported on 169th Street and 26th Avenue on July 25 around 8pm.

Police are advising people to be aware of the ongoing scam for the last 100 years in NYC and people need to wake up by saying NO and GO AWAY.
