Robberies spike on Hillside and Jamaica Avenues

Police reported a victim while waiting for a ride was robbed on Hillside Avenue. The incident was reported at 171 Street around 1am. There were 5 suspects with red Nissan sedan with one displayed a gun. After robbed of wallet and cellphone, the suspects, males, black took off eastbound Hillside Avenue. The victim didn't have injuries but shaken up.
On July 27 a male walking on Jamaica Avenue and 172 Street was hit with a broken bottle by two suspects and robbed him.
On July 28, a male victim was struck with an object by 5 to 7 males on Jamaica Avenue and 150 Street before robbery.
By Rufus Park, an autistic victim was robbed and strangled along with multiple assaults.
On July 29, another male was robbed by the park by 4 males, black suspects. More than 10 vehicles were also stolen on Jamaica and Hillside Avenues.
According to residents, there is a heavy drug dealings on 162nd Street between Hillside and Jamaica Avenue where robberies continue to rise after midnight with spike in victims. Meanwhile, the local police precinct reported of over 10 shootings with no arrests. According to the precinct, they are taking gun violence seriously and trying new tactics to get the word out about gun violence events in the community to get together to make community safe. Cops are walking in the area placing flyers seeking more information about the shootings on windshields and passing out to local residents.
