Rising rent while Article 78 rescheduled to June 12 in NY

The bill of charging landlords instead of tenants by real estate agents and brokers has stalled the case to June 12. After passing by NYS, the Real Estate Board of NY filed a case in response to Article 78. Until the case is resolved, tenants will have to pay commissions to realtors. Meanwhile after the day the new law took effect and then reversed, millions of non-rent stabilized landlords raised the rent and politicians are left with no choice. A single home for rent in Flushing or Bayside now goes for easy $4,000 to $5,000 per month. One politician who doesn't want to be named advised tenants to apply for rent assistance or shelters.
