Rikers Island inmate caught after second escape attempt

Police reported an inmate was apprehended on the building roof after escape attempt in one of Rikers Island building. This is the inmate's second attempt after caught on Thursday from the shoreline. The Brooklyn man scaled a fence around 9am during recreation. He is in jail for allegedly attacking two cops on May 7, 2019 when he was charged with trespassing at the ferry in Manhattan. He was also charged for assaulting a court officer.
