Raccoon EDP pit bull shooting investigation by NYPD in Queens

The NYPD reported a shooting incident involving a pit bull in St Albans this morning when calls came from people being attacked near a bus stop. The incident was reported this morning around 7am on Franny Lew and 118th Avenue. When cops arrived at the bus stop, a victim was laying on the ground with dog bites. One of the dogs became aggressive to cops and bullets went off. The dog died on the scene and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital.

Yesterday around 10:30am, cops were called to a home in Jamaica Hills of an EDP situation. This is on Parsons Blvd near 89th Avenue at a home. When cops arrived, they issued multiple warnings to drop the knife held by EDP and tried to force it into a room but were unsuccessful. According to NYPD's Patrol Borough Queens South quote, "The armed male was able to push through the closed door and continued to push toward the officers with the kitchen knife in hand. At this point, the officers discharged their weapons at the armed male." The NYPD is investigating this incident.

Last Thursday, a raccoon was shot dead in Rockaway Beach around 7:45am when calls came in for a vicious animal attacking people. The animal was shot dead when it was charging toward one of the officers. As of yesterday, the same officer is on modified desk duty pending investigation.

A memorial vigil for the late raccoon is being decided by the animal group pending a date.
