RFK Bridge closed for investigation

Police closed off the RFK Bridge in both directions from Manhattan to Queens due to shooting involving police and suspects. A NYS Trooper was struck by vehicle injuring both legs. The suspect is in custody. ESU, EMS, FDNY, NYS police and NYPD are all working on the scene. Ongoing investigation.

Update - Route to Elmhurst Hospital is being used to transport the Trooper. Avoid the route.

The NYS Trooper followed a suspicious vehicle and ordered to pull over. This started around 12:45pm. The suspect refused and chase started with one shot fired when the Trooper's vehicle was hit.

Update - Another in custody and seven civilians injured.
