Queens man stabbed to death steps away from home mom finds him in pool of blood sources say

Detectives in Queens are searching for the individual responsible for fatally stabbing a man just moments away from his residence — where his mother discovered him lying in a pool of his own blood — on Sunday evening.

Authorities reported that the stabbing took place in front of an auto repair facility at 220-20 Merrick Blvd. in Laurelton around 9:45 p.m. on August 23.

Officers from the 116th Precinct hurried to the location after receiving a 911 alert about an ongoing assault. Upon their arrival, they found 33-year-old Jose Scott, who resided on Merrick Boulevard just three houses down from the auto repair shop, suffering from numerous stab wounds across his body.

Sources connected to the case indicated that Scott had sustained two stab wounds to his back, in addition to a stab wound to his abdomen, along with various other cuts. The victim's mother found him sprawled on the sidewalk in front of their home and drenched in blood, prompting her to call the police for assistance.
