Queens Village and Flushing suspects busted on scamming victims

The Suffolk County Police arrested Gurupreet Singh, 29 of Queens Village and charged with grand larceny, third degree after scamming a victim in Lindenhurst. The incident was reported on October 2 around 1:30pm when the 77 year old victim received an alert on her computer showing her bank account had been compromised. The victim called the number displayed and details were explained to withdraw $16,000. The next day the victim received a call to withdraw $10,000 and this is when the police were notified. Singh was arrested without incident on Thursday around 1pm. The $16,000 has not been recovered.

Yuxin Fu, 24 from Flushing was arrested on September 23, 2024 after landing at JFK from China where US Customers officials arrested her. Fu is wanted for a $46,000 scam in Massachusetts two years ago where a victim lost life savings. According to law enforcement, Fu posed as a Drug Enforcement Administration agent instructing the victim to transfer the money to a safe government account. Fu is charged with grand larceny and stolen property. The $46,000 has not been recovered.
