Political blunder now reaping their mistakes with free college tuition

Maybe Governor Cuomo regrets Bernie Sanders socialism model. As of Fall 2017, NY officially announced tuition free for middle class that passed in the state budget. The program, The Excelsior Scholarship allows families and individuals making up to $125,000 per year will qualify to attend public college tuition free at all CUNY and SUNY colleges in NY. However the acceptance method remains the same and many have failed to maintain their grade point average (GPA) resulting probation and dropping out of college. Initially, the program was to allow students to participate in college while focusing on family income. At the same time, private colleges does offer the same plan for students participating standardized tests with required scores. More than half students transfer to private colleges for job expectations despite student loans according to Poll Everywhere that keeps attendance of students in both private and public colleges. In NYC, colleges such as City College and Baruch College are well reputed for keeping up GPA regardless of the income.
