Plattsburgh female charged with grand larceny

On July 26, 2026, New York State Police arrested Taya M. Levene, age 47, of Plattsburgh, for Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 12:39 p.m., troopers responded to Walmart, located on Consumer Square in the town of Plattsburgh, for a reported shoplifting complaint.

An investigation determined that Levene entered the store and filled two shopping carts with merchandise valued at approximately $2,362.58. Levene then passed all points of purchase without paying for the merchandise.

A Walmart employee confronted Levene, and law enforcement was contacted.

Levene was transported to SP Plattsburgh for processing.
