Plane crash at LGA with fatalities

As of now LaGuardia Airport is closed after a place crash with fatalities. From the investigation, this was Jazz Airlines Flight 646, a Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-900 reportingly struck a Port Authority fire truck resulting aftermath catastrophic results on Runaway 4 with 72 passengers and 4 crew on board. The plane was arriving from Montreal.

The incident was reported around 11:45pm on Sunday night.

As of now, two dead and multiple injuries involving passengers and firefighters on the scene. All flights are diverted to JFK.

The cause of the collision is under investigation — official confirmation from the FAA and Port Authority is expected.

First update - The dead identified as Port Authority firefighters. Five first responders in critical condition. All passengers and crew are being checked by EMS. Due to this accident, FAA is currently reporting LGA will be closed until 2pm Monday. That could certainly change in the hours ahead.
