Paylock replaced with RIS NYC for boots

NYC issued new contract for booting tires for vehicles whose owners owe $350 or more in parking tickets with RIS NYC as the new vendor. The long time booting company Paylock lost the contract with the city after seven years. The usual cost is $159 boot and $80 sheriff cost which is a court ordered warrant plus thee fines which must be paid by phone to receive combination lock to remove boots. However, Paylock has filed lawsuit with the city. The city chose RIS NYC under $83 million contract while paid Paylock $87 million for seven years. RIS NYC is part of Republic Parking, the nation's largest parking management company. The city reported Paylock had the lowest score based on price per technical point. Paylock will also lay off their workers. RIS NYC is at https://risnyc.com/boot-return/
