Parking lot thefts on the rise in Queens

Police reported a group of gangs have targeted parking lots and stole vehicles in Queens. According to police, the group would distract the attendant and then steal keys. Most of the incidents took place in the vicinity of Northern Blvd, Roosevelt Avenue from Woodside to Jackson Heights. Police reported many vehicles are spot on when their keys are inside, often left by the attendant for convenience when moving around for customers in the lot.

Police released a surveillance picture of one of the incidents. This incident was reported in Middle Village at an auto shop with five car thefts on July 31 around 5am.
