Outdoor dining is here to stay says the Mayor

The NYC Mayor signed the bill to keep outdoor dining permanent. This means more public spaces are under development.

The new program, Dining Out NYC, draws on lessons learned from the temporary outdoor dining program created during the pandemic that saved 100,000 jobs across the city but led to quality-of-life issues, as a subset of restaurant owners were unable to maintain loosely regulated outdoor dining setups.

More spaces from parking to unused city's lots on the streets will be used for this program as part of the open space recreation without vehicles.
