One spot on the SSP westbound for lifetime remembrance for a baby growing up

At 3:26pm, a couple heading to the hospital had to pull over their vehicle after the passenger was complaining of pain. This was a woman in labor and the man pulled over calling 911. Within a few minutes, Suffolk County cops stormed to the location, closing two lanes on the Southern State Parkway westbound near Exit 41.

There, Long Island's finest performed their duty and a healthy baby was born on the shoulder of the parkway.

EMS transported the mother and baby to a local hospital with smiles and tears.

Traffic is now normal.

Just another day on the parkway where this is the fifth since last year for Long Island.
