One person shot during crash in Hempstead

Police reported two suspects stole a vehicle after calls were forwarded on Front Street on June 12 around 7am. When police arrived to the scene, both suspects took off with the stolen vehicle. Shortly during the chase, several parked vehicles were struck and then the police vehicle. One officer fired shots after attempt to strike but no injuries. From there, police reported the suspect struck a truck at the intersection of Fairview Blvd and Westbury Blvd. The truck driver was taken to hospital while both suspects were arrested. Ongoing investigation.
