One person shot dead in Great Neck

Police are reporting a road rage resulted with one death. It happened on Monday around 10:30am on Bayview Avenue and East Shore Road in Great Neck. . Reported the suspect driver was heading north when a vehicle behind was using the horn. The perp got out of the vehicle with a bat and argument erupted with assaults to the driver in the back. A police officer on patrol arrived shortly and ordered the perp to drop the bat but refused. The officer used stun gun but wasn't effective. A standby pedestrian tried to help but he was also attacked. Finally, the officer fired shots using gun and the perp fell to the ground. The perp died at the local hospital. Both the driver and pedestrians along with the officer was taken to the hospital with injuries.
