One dead after struck by vehicle in Plainview

Police have closed Old Country Road and Old Bethpage Road in Plainview after a pedestrian was struck and dead. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the police. Ongoing investigation.
Update - According to detectives, an 80 year-old female was crossing south bound on Old Country Road against traffic when she was struck by a 2017 Hyundai, which was traveling west bound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County AMT. The driver of the vehicle, a 66 year-old male, remained at the scene and was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
