One dead after struck by a truck in Westbury

Around 9am, the NCPD reported all eastbound lanes on Old Country Road between Glen Cove Road and the entrance to the Roosevelt Field Mall are closed due to an auto accident.

This was involving a garbage truck that struck a pedestrian who later died.

The medical examiner transported the body to conduct autopsy.

ESU is working on the scene.

Highway CIS is also working on the scene.

The investigation continues.
