One dead after single crash on the LIE eastbound

Police closed off the Long Island Expressway eastbound by Exit 58 reporting a single car crash with one dead. The incident was reported this morning around 3am in Islandia, Suffolk County.

There were two people in the vehicle, a 2010 Ford Edge. The driver, female, 26 died and the passenger, male, 34 is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
