One dead after car crash in Richmond Hill

Police reported an early morning vehicle accident in Richmond Hill with one dead. The incident was reported on Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Blvd around 2:30am.

Police stated a Mercedes Benz slammed into a city vehicle at the intersection. A passenger inside the city vehicle died from the impact. The city worker was on duty with NYC Dept of Environmental Protection.

The driver of the city vehicle suffered injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz suffered minor injuries and remained on the scene to continue to cooperate with the police.
