Off duty cop shot at during attempted robbery in Astoria

Police were called to the vicinity of 28th Avenue and 23rd Street in Astoria around 2am reporting an off duty cop was shot. Two suspects in black hoodies got out of their vehicle, a black sedan and approached the cop after getting out of his personal vehicle.

When the officer turned around, another suspect inside the vehicle fired a shot in his direction. Then the two suspects took off. The off duty cop was not hit by a bullet and called for assistance for attempted robbery.

So far no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
