North Amityville Man Indicted for Manslaughter

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney today announced that Bryan Ventura Ramirez, 20, was indicted for Manslaughter in the Second Degree for allegedly shooting Robin Moscoso Hernandez, his 17-year-old friend.

“In this disturbing case, a 20-year-old allegedly possessed an illegal gun and ended up shooting and killing his friend,” said District Attorney Tierney.  “Ghost guns and illegal firearms of any kind have no place in Suffolk County. My office continues the tireless work to keep illegal weapons off our streets.”

According to the investigation, on October 18, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Suffolk County Police responded to a 911 call originating from 9 Francine Avenue in North Amityville, where Ventura Ramirez lived with his family.  Once there, police discovered Moscoso Hernandez laying in the hallway with a gunshot wound to his chest.  Moscoso Hernandez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:00 p.m.

On October 18, 2025, police allegedly recovered a handgun under Ramirez’s bed.  The handgun, considered a “ghost” gun, did not contain a serial number and had been created from a 3D printer.  A 9 mm shell casing was found inside the gun, which had not been expended properly.  Additionally, sixteen rounds of 9 mm ammunition were allegedly recovered in a bag found in the defendant’s bedroom.  Ventura Ramirez was arrested that night.
