No personal gain for me on Mandip Kaur post

Thanks to the Asian Indians in my friend’s list for reaching out to me on the tragic events leading to the death of a beautiful mother of two young children, 6 and 4 in Richmond Hill.

Mandip Kaur, 30 was married to a Queens resident in 2015 in India and then moved to Richmond Hill three years later. She died on August 4 after posting a video on social media she couldn’t endure further.

NYPD is investigating the matter pending autopsy.

Now her parents in India are fighting to bring her remains there along with the two kids.

Here is my message.

Instead of working for personal gain and attention, being outcast in a certain society is the biggest fear. One risk is leaving society for a new adventure that comes with challenges and consequences people are afraid of.

Here in America, people have choices.

One of the choices is to go to the Queens DA’s office in Kew Garden Hills and demand justice for Mandeep. Another choice is to gather and help her parents to go to India with the body after the NYPD releases the autopsy report. Another choice is to check on the kids and the list is endless. It takes guts not attention.

Take the risk and challenge the consequences even if it means being outcast in a certain society.

Please help her.

Thank you, Laura
