No light rail train connection to the local airports in Queens

The NY Governor after taking orders will scrap the light rail train to connect between JFK and LGA. This is due to the costs being higher. The alternative proposal is adding more bus services to provide a clear, cost effective path forward with an emission free transit solution.

The original budget was $2.1 billion and now $2.4 billion.

The report prepared by the Port Authority estimated the AirTrain project would cost $2.4 billion and take 6 to 7 years to complete, compared with just under $500 million in capital costs to expand bus service. Adding subways to the airport will cost $6.2 billion and 12 years estimated.

Meanwhile at JFK, autonomous electric buses will start the demonstration in June. Then another exhibit with passengers around the airport. This is without bus drivers. Hooray!
